Kotka National Urban Park cycle route
This route takes you to the sites of Kotka’s National Urban Park in the marine areas of the eastern Gulf of Finland, in the parks of the city centre and along the shores of the Kymijoki River.
Along the route you will see and experience many of Kotka’s attractions. There are 10 award-winning parks in Kotka along the route, from which the most significant parks are Katariina Seaside Park, Sapokka Water Garden, Koskipuisto Park and Jokipuisto Park. The route also includes the imperial fishing lodge built for the Russian Emperor Alexander III, now a museum on the shore of Langinkoski, the Kyminlinna Castle fortification built by order of Katariina the Great, Maritime Centre Vellamo and natural aquarium Maretarium, and the Sunila area designed by Alvar Aalto.
Along the route, you will find not only sightseeing attractions but also plenty of stunning scenery and pleasant hiking trails. Take the route and fall in love with the city of Kotka.
