Sibelius Park

The park, named after the master composer Jean Sibelius, is an elegant formal park. It serves as the green living room for urbanites with its playgrounds and is a vital meeting point in the heart of Kotkansaari Island.

The refined design language, old trees, and beautiful plantings of Sibelius Park make it a visual delight, where strolling along its pathways can transport one to times past. Situated at the beginning of Lehmuspromenadi (Linden Esplanade), Sibelius Park is part of Kotka’s Sculpture Promenade. In 1955, a fountain was built in the park’s center, featuring Jussi Mäntynen’s sculpture “Eagles” as its centerpiece.
