The Viking village is built on the shores of Rakin Kotka and it offers beautiful accommodation in traditional log houses. The arrival to Rakin Kotka’s Viking village feels like entering into a movie or going hundreds of years back in time.

The first Vikings arrived at these shores around the year 800. Old Viking graves have been found in the island. Here the Vikings bought fur from the Finnish tribes and traded it further, all the way to China.

In Rakin Kotka you can feast like Vikings did, relax around the campfire, participate in fierce Viking Games, try out your skills on seashore fishing or just enjoy the peaceful calm of the nature and explore the ancient Viking trail. During the walk you will pass old Viking graves and get to explore beautiful Nordic nature. Enjoy the peace and harmony of the Finnish nature and seaside.

Rakin Kotka island has accommodation approximately for 35 people. It has two traditional wood heated saunas, a wooden hot tub and also a traditional smoke sauna, which takes 8 hours to heat up. On Rakin Kotka Viking island you can enjoy excellent Viking style prepared meals including fresh fish from the sea with the special Rakin Kotka Viking beer.

Rakin Kotka Viking Island is located at the southern coast of Finland just outside of town of Hamina. It takes about 30 minutes boat ride from Vimpasaari shoreline to reach the island. Boat trips to island are part of the package.
