Ironworks Canoeing Route

Embark on an effortless cultural canoeing route exploring two historic mills by the Kymi River!

Strömfors Ironworks, dating back to the 17th century, was initially an iron foundry and later a sawmill until the 1950s. Today, it preserves its heritage and offers diverse experiences for travelers including e.g. water sports, hiking, lodging and shopping.

At the trail’s end lies Stockfors Wood Mill, established in 1901, and once a major Pyhtää employer with a sawmill that operated until 1966. It now serves as a wellness center and hosts the Stockfors Art Fair each summer.
