Turning Climate Challenges into Action: Emissions Reduction and Sustainable Mobility in Tourism
How can tourism regions turn ambitious climate goals into concrete action — especially when it comes to emissions reduction and sustainable mobility?
In this interactive workshop, we will tackle the real-world challenges that tourism destinations face when developing and implementing climate action plans. The session opens with a concise introduction to the Finnish collaborative model, where signatories of the Glasgow Declaration have joined forces to support one another through peer learning and shared problem-solving. Liisa, who helped establish this network, will share practical insights on how the model has supported both tourism regions and businesses in moving from plans to action.
The core of the session is highly participatory. Participants are invited to bring one concrete challenge or solution related to climate action planning, emissions reduction, or sustainable mobility. Together, we will explore practical, transferable solutions — drawing on collective experience, discussion, and proven approaches.
You will leave the session with new perspectives, concrete ideas, and inspiration you can apply in your own region or organization.
